ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effectiveness of a special cream made from ascorbic acid (a form of Vitamin C) to treat squamous cell skin cancer, a type of skin cancer that is not melanoma. Participants will apply this cream twice a day for eight weeks and compare its effects to another treatment, imiquimod cream, which is also used for skin cancer. The goal is to see if the ascorbic acid cream can help clear the cancer, as confirmed by a biopsy, which is a test that takes a small sample of skin to check for cancer cells.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should be adults aged 65 to 74 who have been diagnosed with squamous cell skin cancer confirmed by a biopsy. However, individuals with a history of other cancers, those with diabetes, or those with weakened immune systems cannot participate. If you join the trial, you will receive one of the two treatments and will be monitored to see how well it works over the eight weeks. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to find new ways to effectively treat this common type of skin cancer.
