ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is comparing two different methods for examining the right side of the colon during a screening colonoscopy. The study aims to find out if using bright narrow band imaging can detect polyps better than traditional white light endoscopy in people who are at average risk for colon issues. Polyps are small growths that can sometimes lead to cancer if not found and treated early. The trial is currently seeking volunteers who are over 50 years old, have no symptoms, and have not had certain risk factors like a personal history of colon disease or cancer.

If you decide to participate, you'll undergo a colonoscopy, which is a procedure that allows doctors to look inside your colon. You'll be randomly assigned to have either the narrow band imaging or the white light endoscopy method. This means you might receive one type of examination first and the other type during a follow-up visit. It's important to know that only people who can provide written consent and meet specific health criteria will be eligible for this study. Your involvement could help improve the detection of polyps, benefiting future patients.
