ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether a treatment called photobiomodulation (PBM) can help reduce pain after endodontic surgery, which is a type of dental surgery aimed at treating problems in the tooth's root. In this study, 34 patients who need this surgery on their upper jaw will be divided into two groups. One group will receive the actual PBM treatment right after surgery and again 24 hours later, while the other group will receive a simulated treatment that does not provide the same benefits. Both groups will also follow standard procedures for pain management.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be between 18 and 70 years old, have specific types of dental lesions, and be in good health without any other serious medical conditions. Participants can expect to be monitored for pain levels and any side effects over the week following their surgery, with follow-up X-rays to check the healing process. This trial is important because it seeks to find ways to improve pain relief for patients undergoing dental surgery, which can help enhance their recovery experience.
