ClinConnect Summary
The DANIsh VASculitis Database (DANIVAS) trial is studying two conditions called Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA) and Polymyalgia Rheumatica (PMR). The goal of this study is to see if new imaging techniques can help doctors better understand these diseases. This understanding could help predict how well patients will respond to treatment, their risk of relapse (getting sick again), and any complications that might arise. Ultimately, the study aims to improve how these conditions are managed, which can lead to better health outcomes for patients.
To participate in this trial, you need to have been diagnosed with GCA or PMR within the last five years, and your diagnosis must be confirmed by a rheumatologist, a doctor who specializes in these diseases. You also need to be able to speak and understand Danish and provide your consent to participate. If you join the study, you will be part of the national effort to gather information that could improve treatment for people with these conditions. This trial is currently recruiting participants of all ages, so if you or someone you know fits these criteria, it could be a valuable opportunity to contribute to important research.
