ClinConnect Summary
The "Generation Healthy Kids" trial is studying a program designed to help children aged 6 to 11 years in Denmark become healthier by improving their eating habits, physical activity, sleep, and screen time. This program will be tested in 24 schools, where half will participate in the intervention and the other half will not. Researchers want to see if the children in the program will have less body fat compared to those who do not participate, over two school years.
If you have a child in 1st or 2nd grade at one of the selected schools, they may be eligible to take part in the study. There are no strict exclusion criteria, meaning that even if your child has some health issues, they can still join in on parts of the study that are suitable for them. Families can expect to be involved in various activities aimed at promoting healthier lifestyles, and the study aims to create a supportive environment for children to thrive. This trial is an important step in finding effective ways to combat childhood obesity and improve children's overall well-being.
