ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the Support-Moms study, is focused on improving maternal health for pregnant women in rural Uganda. The goal is to help these women access better maternity care and support, which can lead to healthier pregnancies and reduce the number of mothers and babies who die during childbirth. To do this, researchers have created an app that provides helpful health information and sends reminders to both the mothers and their chosen support network, encouraging them to use available healthcare services.
To participate, women need to be in their first trimester of pregnancy and live in the study area, have a cell phone that works well, and be able to identify at least two people in their life who can support them during their pregnancy. Participants can expect to receive regular messages through the app that will guide them on how to access care and connect them with their support network. This trial is currently looking for volunteers, and by joining, participants will be contributing to a valuable effort to improve maternal health in their community.
