ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the impact of specialized nurses, called respiratory critical care nurses (RCCN), on the health of critically ill patients in intensive care units (ICUs). The main aim is to see if having these specially trained nurses can help patients recover better compared to standard care. In the trial, participants will be randomly divided into two groups: one group will receive special care from RCCNs from the moment they arrive in the emergency room until they leave the hospital, while the other group will receive the usual care.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be at least 18 years old and critically ill, but they should not have a history of certain serious health issues like heart disease, cancer, or stroke. Pregnant or breastfeeding women, as well as those with very advanced medical conditions, are not able to join. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to gather important information to improve care for critically ill patients in the future. If you or a loved one are considering participation, you can expect personalized care and attention from specially trained nurses during your hospital stay.
