ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking to understand how different factors in a person's life can affect their risk of experiencing fragile bone fractures, especially for those with osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a condition where bones become weak and fragile, making them more likely to break. The study will gather information from participants through various questionnaires that cover their medical history, medication adherence, feelings about their illness, and levels of stress and social support. The goal is to identify what influences patients’ ability to stick with their osteoporosis treatment and how that may relate to their risk of fractures.
To participate in this study, individuals should be between the ages of 65 to 74, have been diagnosed with osteoporosis or osteopenia (a condition where bone density is lower than normal), and have experienced a fragility fracture in the past. They should also have been taking osteoporosis medications for at least six months and be willing to answer questions honestly. However, individuals who have been diagnosed with osteoporosis for less than six months or have certain neurological or psychological conditions that would make participation difficult will not be eligible. Participants can expect to share their experiences and feelings, which will help researchers better understand how to support osteoporosis patients in managing their health effectively.
