ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying "functional overlay" in patients with movement disorders, such as Conversion Disorder, Parkinson's Disease, Tremor, and Dystonia. Essentially, the researchers want to find out how often people with these movement disorders also experience additional issues related to functional neurological disorders, which can affect how their body moves. They will examine participants through various tests, including neurological exams, psychological assessments, and questionnaires that explore psychological and social factors.
To be eligible for the study, participants should be aged between 18 and 80 and have either a functional or non-functional movement disorder. Unfortunately, those who cannot give consent or do not speak German fluently will not be able to participate. If you join the study, you'll undergo several tests to help researchers compare the differences between those with functional motor disorders and those without. This research could provide valuable insights into how these conditions are related and improve understanding and treatment options for patients.
