ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into how the position of a patient during a urodynamic exam (a test that checks how well the bladder and urethra are working) might affect the diagnosis of detrusor overactivity, especially in patients with neurological disorders like Multiple Sclerosis (MS) or Parkinson's disease. The current recommendations for this exam suggest that patients should sit or stand, but many neurological patients may have difficulty with these positions. The researchers want to see if conducting the exam while lying down (in a supine position) can still provide useful information about bladder function.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be at least 18 years old and diagnosed with MS or Parkinson's disease, and they should have symptoms of an overactive bladder. Men should not have prostate issues, and women should not have stress urinary incontinence. If eligible, participants can expect to undergo the urodynamic exam in a comfortable position and contribute to better guidelines that could help future patients with similar conditions. Your involvement could help improve care for those with neurological disorders facing bladder issues.
