ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well a combination of lidocaine (a numbing medication) and sufentanil (a pain reliever) can help prevent discomfort in the bladder caused by a catheter after prostate surgery. The researchers want to see how often men experience this discomfort right after waking up from anesthesia following robot-assisted radical prostatectomy, a type of surgery for prostate cancer.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be men aged 18 to 79 who are having this specific surgery and are generally healthy. They will need to sign a consent form to join. During the trial, participants will receive either the medication combination or a placebo (a harmless saline solution) injected into their bladder through the catheter. Afterward, the researchers will check how many men in each group experience bladder discomfort. This trial is not yet recruiting, but if you're interested, it could provide valuable information about ways to improve comfort after surgery.
