ClinConnect Summary
The IPIAM study is exploring how involving patients in their own care through remote monitoring can improve the use of CPAP machines for treating obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). This is particularly important for patients who have cardiovascular risks and may struggle to consistently use their CPAP devices. The study aims to see if monitoring patient data daily can help identify issues early on, making it easier for both patients and healthcare providers to address any problems with using the CPAP device effectively.
To participate in this study, you need to be an adult recently diagnosed with OSA and have at least one cardiovascular risk factor, such as obesity or diabetes. You should also have a smartphone and be willing to use connected devices throughout the study. If you join, you can expect to receive remote support and monitoring to help you adhere to your treatment, which may also include checking for heart rhythm issues using a smartwatch. This study is currently recruiting participants, and your involvement could play a crucial role in improving how we manage OSA treatment for people at risk.
