ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new online educational program designed to help patients prepare for shoulder replacement surgery. Many people experience shoulder problems, and while surgery can be an effective treatment, it’s important for patients to understand what to expect and how to recover safely afterward. The goal of this trial is to determine if an online prehabilitation program—made up of videos and educational materials—can better prepare patients for their surgery compared to the current in-person classes. Participants will be divided into three groups: one will use the online program alone, another will use it with the help of a therapist, and the third will attend the standard online class led by healthcare professionals.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be over 18 years old and planning to undergo shoulder replacement surgery at a specific hospital. They need to be able to read and understand English or have a translator available, and they must agree to participate for at least one year after their surgery. The hope is that by using these online resources, patients will feel more informed and confident about their surgery and recovery, ultimately leading to better outcomes for their shoulder health.
