ClinConnect Summary
The clinical trial titled "Detection of Microplastics and Nanoplastics in Neurosurgery Patients" is exploring whether tiny plastic particles, which are commonly found in our environment and food, can also be present in the bodies of patients undergoing neurosurgery. These particles, known as microplastics and nanoplastics, could potentially be found in samples such as blood, brain tissue, and tumors during surgery. The study aims to collect these samples from neurosurgery patients to determine if these plastic particles exist in their bodies, helping us understand the impact of plastic pollution on human health.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be between 18 and 80 years old and scheduled for any type of neurosurgery. If you decide to participate, you’ll be asked to provide biological samples during your surgery. The findings from this research could provide valuable insights into how plastic pollution affects patients and may help guide future health recommendations. It's important to note that participation is completely voluntary, and you can choose not to take part at any time.
