ClinConnect Summary
The "Stronger at Home" clinical trial is studying a new 14-week rehabilitation program designed to help older adults recover from hip fractures more effectively than usual care. Participants will use a self-directed toolkit that includes educational resources and an illustrated exercise program to gradually increase their physical activity. The goal is to see if this tailored approach leads to better recovery outcomes over time, specifically at the end of the 14 weeks and beyond.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be at least 55 years old, live independently in the community, and have recently suffered a hip fracture from a fall. They should be going home or to a retirement home after their hospital stay. Those who are currently in long-term care or have other specific conditions may not qualify. If you or someone you know is interested, participating individuals can expect to follow the program guidelines to improve their strength and mobility, while also contributing to valuable research that could improve care for others in the future.
