ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a mobile app can help patients prepare for a colonoscopy, which is an important test to check for colon diseases and cancer. Proper preparation of the bowel is crucial for doctors to get accurate results. In this study, 160 patients will be divided into two groups: one group will receive traditional instructions on bowel preparation, while the other group will use a smartphone app to get their instructions. The researchers want to see if using the app improves how well patients prepare for the test and reduces their anxiety.
To participate in this study, you must be between 18 and 65 years old, have a smartphone with internet access, and be scheduled for your first colonoscopy. Patients who have had certain surgeries or have cognitive issues are not eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to receive detailed instructions on how to prepare for your colonoscopy, either through the app or in person, and help researchers understand if the app makes the process easier for patients.
