ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how common right ventricle dysfunction is in critically ill patients. The right ventricle is a part of the heart that pumps blood to the lungs, and when it doesn't work well, it can lead to serious health issues. Researchers will look at how this condition affects patients in the short term, like their stay in the intensive care unit (ICU) and overall hospital stay, as well as their health outcomes after they leave the hospital. They will also evaluate different ways to measure right ventricle dysfunction to see which methods are most accurate.
To participate in this study, you need to be an adult patient (18 years or older) who has been admitted to the critical care unit in the Internal Medicine department after giving consent. Unfortunately, children under 18 and patients who cannot undergo testing within 48 hours of being admitted to the ICU will not be eligible. If you choose to take part, you can expect close monitoring and testing related to your heart function during your hospital stay. This research is important as it could help improve how doctors understand and treat right ventricle dysfunction in critically ill patients.
