ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the safety of a specific type of surgery called laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, which is used to treat localized prostate cancer. The main goal is to see how many patients experience complications related to the surgery within the first 30 days after the procedure. The trial is currently looking for men between the ages of 18 and 74 who have been diagnosed with localized prostate cancer and are scheduled for this surgery. To participate, they should be able to understand the study information and have a supportive social environment.
If you decide to join the study, you can expect to undergo the laparoscopic surgery and then be monitored for any surgery-related issues over the next month. It’s important to note that this trial is not suitable for everyone—men who have emergencies requiring immediate surgery, those who need long-term blood-thinning medications, or who live far from the clinic may not be eligible. Additionally, participants should have someone at home to help them after the surgery, especially on the first night. This study aims to improve understanding of the risks associated with this procedure and help ensure better care for future patients.
