ClinConnect Summary
The CIRCAME study is a research trial taking place in two memory clinics in Paris. Its main goal is to understand how daily rhythms (like sleep and wake times) and other personal factors might be linked to different types and stages of dementia, such as Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemporal dementia. Researchers want to see if these factors can help doctors identify dementia early, even before more common indicators are considered. They are also looking into how these factors might predict how quickly a person’s memory and daily activities may decline over time.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old, able to provide consent, and be enrolled in the French social security system. However, individuals with certain skin allergies, severe psychiatric disorders, or those who need assistance due to significant cognitive impairment may not be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to wear a small device that tracks your daily movements for nine days. This research could provide valuable insights into dementia and improve how it is diagnosed and treated in the future.
