ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at ways to better understand and diagnose focal liver lesions (FLLs), which are lumps or spots in the liver that can be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). The researchers want to see if new ultrasound techniques, specifically contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) and shear wave elastography (SWE), can provide useful information to help tell the difference between these types of lesions. This is especially important for patients with chronic liver diseases, where traditional methods like biopsies can be more invasive and costly.
To participate in the study, you need to be an adult over 18 years old and have a focal liver lesion that can be seen using a specific type of ultrasound called B-mode. Unfortunately, if you have liver or heart failure, have had certain previous treatments for liver lesions, or have allergies to ultrasound contrast agents, you would not be eligible to join. If you decide to participate, you will undergo several non-invasive ultrasound tests, and your information will be collected over the course of about a year. This could help improve the way doctors diagnose liver issues in the future!
