ClinConnect Summary
The PROPEL-2 clinical trial is exploring whether a special type of dressing called Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) can help patients who have had surgery on their abdomen. This dressing is designed to help prevent infections, reduce complications after surgery, and improve the appearance of scars compared to regular dressings. If you or a loved one are 18 years or older and will be having visceral abdominal surgery through a midline incision, you might be eligible to participate in this trial.
Participants in the trial will be asked to complete some questionnaires about their recovery and wound healing. It’s important to note that individuals who cannot follow the study’s guidelines may not be eligible. The study is actively recruiting participants, and anyone involved can expect close monitoring of their recovery process to see how well the NPWT dressing works compared to standard options.
