ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how adding physical and occupational therapy to the care of patients who are about to receive a bone marrow transplant (BMT) can affect their recovery. Specifically, the researchers want to see if having therapists involved from the start helps reduce complications, the time patients spend in the hospital, the chances of being readmitted within 30 days, and even the risk of death within 90 days after the transplant.
To participate in this study, individuals must be at least 18 years old and scheduled to receive a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, those who have not been admitted to the hospital for this treatment in the past will not be eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to have consultations with physical and occupational therapists right when you are admitted, and the study will gather information about your recovery to see how this approach may improve outcomes for future patients.
