ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Mastery Learning in Communication Skills," is exploring how specialized training in communication can help anesthesiology residents improve their skills. The study aims to find out if a method called mastery learning, which focuses on practicing and refining communication techniques, is better than the usual learning approach for helping residents communicate effectively in both practice simulations and real clinical situations. Researchers also want to see if this training can help reduce feelings of burnout among the participants.
To participate in this study, residents need to be doing their training at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. They cannot have previously taken part in the mastery learning course. Throughout the trial, participants will be divided into two groups: one will receive the mastery training, and the other will follow the standard learning method. This way, the researchers can compare the results and determine the effectiveness of the new training approach. If you're a resident interested in improving your communication skills and dealing with burnout, this might be a great opportunity for you!
