ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying gestational diabetes (GDM), a condition that can develop during pregnancy and affect both the mother and the baby. Researchers want to find out if a continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) device, which tracks blood sugar levels, can help diagnose GDM more accurately than the current standard test, the oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). They will compare glucose data from 400 pregnant women who are at high risk for GDM, including both those diagnosed with GDM and those who are not but still at risk. The goal is to see if the CGM can identify patterns in blood sugar levels that are similar to those found in women diagnosed with GDM.

To be eligible for this study, participants must be women aged 18 or older, between 12 and 26 weeks pregnant, and identified as having one or more risk factors for GDM. They cannot have pre-existing diabetes or a history of GDM, and they must be willing to provide consent to participate. If you join the study, you will receive a CGM device that will monitor your glucose levels while researchers collect data to see how it compares with your OGTT results. This study could help improve the way GDM is diagnosed in the future, making it easier for pregnant women to get the care they need.
