ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how common HPV (human papillomavirus) infections are in transgender individuals, particularly focusing on those who may also be living with HIV or other sexually transmitted infections. The study aims to find out the number of people with HPV lesions, which are changes in the tissue that might indicate the presence of the virus, and to identify different types of HPV that can be found in the genital area, anus, and throat.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be at least 18 years old and identify as transgender, meaning they do not identify with the gender they were assigned at birth. They also need to be part of a social security system. However, individuals who have received the HPV vaccine, those who refuse to participate in research, or those who are under legal guardianship cannot take part. If someone joins the study, they can expect to provide information about their health and undergo tests to check for HPV infections. This research is important because it could help improve understanding and healthcare for transgender individuals regarding HPV and related health issues.
