ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how certain factors, like frailty and weakness acquired while in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), affect fatigue in patients after they leave the ICU. Many patients experience extreme tiredness, known as post-intensive care syndrome (PICS), after spending time in the ICU, and this study aims to understand what might increase the risk of this fatigue. By identifying these risk factors, researchers hope to improve care for patients recovering from serious illnesses.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be adults aged 65 to 74 who have spent at least 7 days in the ICU or needed mechanical ventilation for 5 days or more. Those scheduled for surgery or who are pregnant cannot participate. If you join the study, you can expect to share your experiences and symptoms after your ICU stay, which will help researchers learn more about how to better support patients like you in their recovery journey.
