ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how to best monitor children with a condition called juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) for a serious eye problem known as uveitis. The study will compare two different ways to check for uveitis: one method uses a special tool called a slit lamp for a close-up examination, while the other uses advanced imaging technology to take pictures of the eye. The goal is to gather information that will help design a larger study in the future.

To participate in this trial, children must be between 2 and 12 years old and have recently been diagnosed with JIA (within the last year). However, children who already have uveitis or other significant eye or neurological issues that could affect their vision will not be eligible. While the trial is not yet recruiting, those who qualify can expect to undergo regular eye checks using the two different methods to see which is more effective for early detection of uveitis. This research is important as it may lead to better ways to protect the eye health of children with JIA.
