ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is designed to study how asthma affects the heart in children. Specifically, researchers will look at certain heart markers and how well the left and right sides of the heart are working in children who have severe asthma. The trial will take place at Assuit University Hospital and is currently not open for enrollment.
To participate in this study, children must be between the ages of 5 and 15 and have been admitted to the emergency room for a serious asthma attack. However, children with certain heart conditions, infections like tuberculosis or pneumonia, or those who have inhaled foreign objects will not be eligible to join. Participants can expect to undergo tests that will help doctors understand the relationship between asthma and heart function, which could lead to better treatments for young patients with this condition.
