ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring two different surgical methods for treating chest injuries: a newer technique called video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) and the traditional open surgery known as exploratory thoracotomy. The goal is to see how these two approaches compare in terms of safety and effectiveness for patients with chest trauma. Open surgery can be more challenging and has a higher risk of complications, so the study aims to find out if VATS, which is less invasive, might be a better option for patients.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be at least 13 years old and stable enough to undergo surgery for their chest injuries. This means that their vital signs are stable, and they do not have serious head injuries or other complications. Participants will need to provide written consent to take part in the study and agree to follow the study's requirements. Since this trial is not yet recruiting, it’s important to keep an eye out for updates if you or someone you know might be interested in participating.
