ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the best ways to safely dispose of leftover prescription opioid pain medications after surgery. It compares two methods: sending the unused pills through the mail versus throwing them away at home. The goal is to find out which method helps ensure that these medications are disposed of properly, reducing the risk of misuse or accidental ingestion.
To be eligible for this trial, you should be between the ages of 65 and 74, and you need to be scheduled to have surgery where you will be prescribed opioid medications for pain relief afterward. Participants will be asked to follow up via email or phone to share their experiences with the disposal methods. It’s important to know that if you can't be contacted by email or phone, you won't be able to join the study. This trial is currently looking for volunteers, and your participation could help improve safety for others after surgery.
