ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a program called the Body Project, which aims to help young women who are concerned about their body image and may be at risk for eating disorders. The trial is comparing two different ways of delivering this program: one group will have sessions led by peers (other young women), while another group will have sessions led by clinicians (trained professionals). The goal is to see which approach is more effective and how well the program works when delivered online, making it easier for more people to participate.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be female, aged 16 to 25, and should have concerns about their body image. However, those currently diagnosed with an eating disorder that requires treatment or hospitalization cannot take part in the trial. If you join, you can expect to be part of virtual group sessions where you'll discuss body image issues and learn strategies to improve your self-esteem and body image. This research is important because it aims to find effective ways to help more young women who struggle with these concerns.
