ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Protocol For Sleep for Critically Ill Patients," is focused on understanding and improving sleep quality in patients who are critically ill and staying in Intensive Care Units (ICUs). Sleep is very important for our health, and poor sleep can lead to various problems, including memory issues and an increased risk of serious conditions like heart disease and confusion (known as delirium). The study aims to reduce sleep disturbances in these patients by implementing certain routines and environmental changes in the ICU, which could help them sleep better and potentially lower the chances of experiencing delirium.
To participate in this trial, you need to be an adult (18 years or older) who has spent at least two nights in the ICU and is able to respond to a sleep questionnaire. Unfortunately, some people, including those with severe memory problems or who are unable to communicate, may not be eligible. If you choose to take part, you will be asked about your sleep, and the researchers will work on strategies to help improve your sleep experience while in the ICU. Your involvement could contribute to better sleep practices for future patients in similar situations.
