ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to better detect and understand resting tremors in patients with Parkinson's disease. Resting tremors are involuntary shaking movements that can happen when a person is not using their muscles. The researchers want to analyze muscle contractions in the arm to see if this can help differentiate Parkinson's-related tremors from those caused by other conditions, like cerebellar tremor. By looking at the patterns of these muscle contractions, the team hopes to improve the way we track the progression of Parkinson's disease.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be between the ages of 65 and 74 or between 35 and 524, and they should have a diagnosis of either Parkinson's disease or cerebellar tremor. Participants will undergo tests that involve recording muscle activity in the arm. However, there are some exclusions, such as recent treatments that may affect muscle function. Overall, this study aims to enhance our understanding of tremors, which could lead to better management of Parkinson's disease in the future.
