ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether training patients to lie face down (called prone positioning) before surgery can help reduce lung problems after laparoscopic colorectal surgery. This type of surgery is commonly used to treat colorectal cancer, but some patients experience issues with their lungs afterward, which can lead to longer hospital stays and more health complications. By practicing this positioning before surgery, researchers hope to see improvements in lung function and fewer complications after the operation.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be at least 18 years old and have a clinical diagnosis of colorectal cancer. However, certain people will not be able to participate, such as those needing emergency surgery or those with certain health issues that would make lying face down unsafe. If someone joins the trial, they can expect to learn the prone position technique and have their lung health closely monitored during their recovery after surgery. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights into improving patient outcomes following colorectal surgery.
