ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into how the way we manage anesthesia (the medicine that keeps patients asleep and pain-free during surgery) impacts patients' recovery after major abdominal surgeries for conditions like liver and pancreatic cancer. Specifically, researchers want to find out if changes in anesthesia techniques have helped patients live longer after surgery and whether these methods have affected how long they need to stay in the hospital.
To be eligible for this study, patients must be between 65 and 74 years old and have had their first surgery for liver cancer, cholangiocarcinoma (a type of bile duct cancer), or pancreatic cancer between October 2017 and February 2022. Those who were unable to have surgery during the procedure or who had multiple surgeries will not be included. If you participate, your past medical records related to your surgery will be reviewed to gather information about your recovery and hospital stay. The findings from this study could help improve care for future patients undergoing similar surgeries.
