ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of a special monitoring technique during thyroid surgery to help protect a nerve that is important for voice quality. Many patients experience voice changes after thyroid surgery due to damage to the external branch of the superior laryngeal nerve. The goal of this trial is to see if neuromonitoring can help prevent this nerve damage, ultimately improving patients' quality of life after surgery.
To participate in this study, patients must be scheduled for thyroid surgery and should be able to understand and agree to join the trial. However, certain patients are not eligible, including those with advanced tumors, previous nerve damage, or specific health conditions like hyperthyroidism. If you decide to take part, you can expect to have your nerve function monitored during your surgery, which may help your surgeon make better decisions to protect your voice.
