ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how cortisol levels vary in different body fluids, including sweat, saliva, interstitial fluid (the fluid between cells), and blood. Cortisol is an important hormone that our body produces in a pattern throughout the day, and current methods for measuring it can be complicated. The goal of this study is to help develop a new device that can measure cortisol levels continuously and non-invasively, which means it won't require painful blood draws or other invasive procedures.
The trial is open to healthy adults aged 18 to 30 who have a normal body weight and are generally in good health. Those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have certain medical issues or allergies will not be eligible. Participants can expect to provide samples of their sweat, saliva, and blood over the course of the study. This research is important because it could lead to better ways to monitor cortisol levels for people with conditions like adrenal insufficiency or Cushing syndrome, helping them manage their health more effectively.
