ClinConnect Summary
The clinical trial titled "INTERogating Cancer for Etiology, Prevention and Therapy Navigation" is focused on understanding the causes of cancer and finding ways to prevent or treat it more effectively. Researchers will analyze samples like blood, saliva, and tissues from patients with confirmed cancer diagnoses. By looking at the genetic changes in these samples, the study aims to identify important markers that could lead to better prevention strategies, earlier detection, or improved treatments for cancer. Additionally, the study will create a biobank, which is like a library of samples and information that can be used for ongoing research.
To participate in this study, you need to be between the ages of 65 to 74 and have a confirmed cancer diagnosis that is either recurring or advanced. You should be aware of your diagnosis and able to give consent. Participants will be asked to provide various samples, such as blood or tissue, but if you don't have tissue available, you can still join the study. If you have had certain genetic tests done in the past year, you may not be eligible. It's important to note that pregnant women or those planning to become pregnant can still participate. This study offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cancer research that could benefit many patients in the future.
