ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new treatment method called the Advanced Molar Distalization Appliance (AMDA) to help move the upper back teeth, known as maxillary first molars, into a better position for patients with a specific type of bite problem called Class II malocclusion. This condition means that the upper teeth are positioned too far forward compared to the lower teeth. The trial aims to understand how effective this new appliance is in improving both the teeth and the jaw alignment for patients who have all their permanent teeth.
To be part of this study, participants must be between the ages of 11 and 18 and have all their permanent teeth, including or excluding the second molars (the next set of back teeth). They should also have a Class II molar relationship, which means their back teeth are misaligned by a quarter to one cusp of a tooth. However, individuals who have had previous orthodontic treatment, certain bite issues, severe tooth decay, or poor oral hygiene will not be eligible. Participants in this trial can expect to wear the AMDA and attend regular check-ups to monitor their progress. This is an exciting opportunity to potentially improve dental health and align teeth more effectively.
