ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different ways to perform a procedure called percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PNL), which is used to remove kidney stones in children. Specifically, the trial compares doing this procedure while the child is lying on their back (supine position) versus lying on their stomach (prone position). The goal is to find out which position is safer and more effective for treating kidney stones in kids.
To be eligible for this trial, children must be 18 years old or younger and have kidney stones that can be treated with PNL. However, some children may not qualify if they have certain health issues, such as congenital (present at birth) or skeletal problems, a tendency to bleed easily, an active urinary tract infection, or if they refuse to participate. If a child joins the trial, they can expect to undergo the PNL procedure in one of the two positions being studied, and their health and recovery will be monitored closely. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to help improve kidney stone treatment for children in the future.
