ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the swelling, known as edema, that can happen after shoulder surgeries like rotator cuff repair or labrum repair. During these surgeries, a special technique called arthroscopy is used, which involves making small cuts and injecting fluid into the shoulder joint. The researchers want to find out how much fluid collects under the skin of the upper arm and torso after the surgery, especially in relation to how long the surgery takes and how much fluid is used. Understanding this swelling can help doctors manage potential complications and decide when it’s safe for patients to go home after surgery.
To participate in this trial, you need to be between 18 and 65 years old and have surgery on your shoulder planned. However, if you have certain conditions like a stiff shoulder, metabolic diseases, skin issues, or hyperlaxity (which means your joints move too much), you won’t be eligible to join. If you take part, you can expect to have your fluid levels checked before and after your surgery to help improve care for future patients.
