ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring the effectiveness of two different treatments for children with a condition called anterior crossbite, where some of the front teeth are misaligned. The study, taking place at Mansoura University’s Faculty of Dentistry, will compare the use of clear aligners—transparent trays that gradually move teeth to the correct position—versus a removable inclined plane, a type of dental appliance. The goal is to see which treatment not only works better to fix the crossbite but also improves the quality of life for the patients.
To participate in this study, children aged 7 to 12 who have more than one tooth affected by an anterior crossbite and maintain good oral hygiene can be eligible. However, children with certain health conditions, bad habits that could affect the treatment, or a history of previous orthodontic work won’t be included. Those who join the trial can expect to receive one of the two treatments and will be monitored throughout the process to assess how well each option works. This research aims to help improve dental care for children with this common dental issue.
