ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how labor affects eye pressure in women who are about to give birth. Specifically, it looks at how pushing during delivery might change the pressure inside the eye, which is important for understanding risks related to glaucoma, a condition that affects vision. The trial is open to first-time pregnant women who are in good health and have no eye problems. Participants will be monitored during labor using special contact lenses that measure eye pressure every few minutes.
If you decide to participate, you will first have a thorough eye examination. During labor, as you experience contractions, doctors will check your eye pressure and place the contact lenses in your eyes, which you will wear until a couple of hours after the baby is born. The goal of the study is to gather information that can help determine if pushing during labor poses any risks for women with glaucoma or those at risk of developing it.
