ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different treatments for adults with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and bronchiectasis, which are conditions that affect breathing and can lead to excessive mucus production. The study will compare the standard treatment using a device called the Expiratory Flow Accelerator (EFA) against a combination of this device with high-flow therapy. The goal is to see which method is more effective in helping patients manage their symptoms and improve their breathing.
To participate in this trial, individuals need to be between 65 and 74 years old and have been diagnosed with COPD and bronchiectasis. They should also have experienced at least two flare-ups or worsening of their condition in the past year. However, certain conditions like cystic fibrosis, severe heart failure, or ongoing respiratory issues will exclude someone from joining. If eligible, participants will have the opportunity to try out these treatment methods and contribute to important research that could help others with similar health challenges.
