ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying ovarian cancer, specifically looking for new ways to monitor and predict how the disease progresses in women diagnosed with high-grade serous ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer can be very serious, often diagnosed late and frequently returning after treatment. Currently, doctors check certain markers in the blood, like CA125 and HE4, to see if the cancer is coming back. However, these markers sometimes miss early signs of recurrence. This study aims to find additional biomarkers, which are substances in the body that can indicate how the cancer is doing, to help tailor treatment plans for patients more effectively.
To participate in this trial, women must be between the ages of 18 and 75 and newly diagnosed with high-grade serous ovarian cancer, meaning they haven't started treatment yet. Unfortunately, patients with a history of other cancers or those who have not had surgery for their ovarian cancer cannot join. Participants in the study will have their metabolic biomarkers monitored over time to better understand their condition and help improve future treatments. This research could lead to more personalized care for women facing this challenging disease.
