ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called the Gestational Diabetes Mother-infant Cohort, is looking to understand how high blood sugar levels during pregnancy and the nurturing environment after birth can affect children's language development. Researchers are particularly interested in how well mothers manage their blood sugar levels before giving birth and how this might influence their child's ability to develop language skills later on. To gather this information, the study will assess children aged 1.5 to 2.5 years old using various tools to measure their language development and the family environment they are raised in.
To be eligible for the study, children must be between 1.5 and 2.5 years old and should not have any serious health issues or hearing problems. Children with conditions like cerebral palsy, serious hearing impairments, or certain neurological disorders will not be included. If your child qualifies and you choose to participate, you can expect to take part in evaluations that help researchers understand how prenatal and postnatal factors influence language skills. This study is currently looking for participants, and your involvement could help improve understanding and support for children affected by gestational diabetes.
