ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how technology can help people with overweight or obesity stick to their weight loss programs. Many individuals find it hard to maintain a healthy diet and regular exercise, which can lead to setbacks in their weight loss journey. The researchers want to understand what causes these setbacks in real-time by using tools like smartphones and fitness trackers. They will gather information about participants’ eating and activity habits in their everyday lives, aiming to develop a personalized support system that can help address challenges as they arise, ultimately making it easier for people to stay on track with their weight loss goals.
To participate in this study, individuals should be between 18 and 65 years old, have a body mass index (BMI) between 27 and 50, and own a smartphone with a data plan. They also need to be able to read and understand English. However, those currently in another weight loss program, pregnant, or with certain medical or psychological conditions are not eligible. If someone joins the study, they can expect to regularly answer brief surveys and use technology to help monitor their progress and challenges throughout the weight loss process.
