ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying patients who experience traumatic cardiac arrest, which is when the heart stops beating due to a serious injury. The research is being conducted by the Danish Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) and looks at patients treated between 2016 and 2021. The main goal is to find out how many of these patients survive for at least 30 days after their treatment. Researchers are also interested in understanding the patients' condition when they arrive at the hospital and whether they regained a normal heartbeat before reaching the hospital.

To be eligible for this study, patients must have suffered a traumatic cardiac arrest and received care from the Danish HEMS during the specified period. This includes both adults and children. However, patients who had cardiac arrest due to hanging, drowning, or electrocution, or who were not in Denmark, will not be included. If you or a loved one meets these criteria, your participation could help improve care for future patients in similar situations.

  • Exclusion Criteria:
  • Patients in whom the HEMS was dispatched but did not arrive will be excluded.
  • Patients with cardiac arrest resulting from hanging, drowning, or electrocution will be excluded.
