ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a special way of talking to patients, called motivational interviewing, can help people with diabetic foot ulcers. Diabetic foot ulcers are serious wounds that can happen to people with diabetes, and they can greatly affect their health and quality of life. The trial will compare two groups: one will receive motivational interviewing to help them manage their condition better, while the other group will get standard education about foot care. Researchers want to find out if the motivational approach improves how well patients follow treatment plans, how confident they feel in managing their foot care, and their overall satisfaction with the care they receive.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be between the ages of 65 to 74, have clear thinking and communication abilities, and have been diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. They must also have a specific type of diabetic foot ulcer (Grade 1) and are currently receiving standard wound care. Participants should live in Kocaeli province and be willing to join the study by signing a consent form. This trial is not yet recruiting, but it aims to help improve care for individuals with diabetic foot ulcers by encouraging better health behaviors and support.
