ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying whether a combination of brain stimulation and virtual reality training can help improve thinking skills and mood in older adults with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI). The brain stimulation is done using a method called repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS), which safely sends magnetic pulses to the brain. Participants will either receive standard treatment, rTMS alone, or rTMS along with immersive virtual reality cognitive training (iVCT) for a total of ten sessions over two weeks. The trial aims to find out if the combined treatment can lead to better cognitive function, improved mental health, and a better quality of life compared to the other groups.

To be eligible for this trial, participants must be 55 years old or older and have a diagnosis of Mild Cognitive Impairment, scoring 18 or above on a specific cognitive test. Those who join will first undergo tests to evaluate their thinking, emotional, and daily living abilities. After completing the treatment, participants will be tested again two weeks and three months later to see if there are any lasting benefits. It's important to note that certain health conditions or medications may prevent someone from participating, so a thorough screening will be done. Overall, this trial offers a promising opportunity to explore new ways to help older adults with MCI.
